Super quick and easy dessert that requires very little ingredients. My family used to order these for parties all the time until my mom started making them. Not sure where the recipe came from.
Crust:
½ cup confectioner’s sugar
1 ½ cup all purpose flour
1 ½ sticks unsalted butter, softened and sliced
Put all into food processor and process until mixture forms a ball. Press dough into 12 in. tart pan w/ a removable bottom (click on picture to for a link to a tart pan).
Bake in oven at 350 degrees F, 7 minutes on top shelf of oven and 10 minutes on bottom shelf of oven until lightly browned. Set aside to cool.
For custard filling since I was strapped for time (i.e. fucked up my 1st attempt at custard) I used instant vanilla pudding/pie filling mix. Make sure to follow the directions and use less milk for the pie filling version. Slice fruit and assemble tart.
